Elite Academy of Dance was founded in 1999 with the opening of our Maidenhead branch and later in 2001 we opened our Beaconsfield branch. Our dedicated teachers are fully qualified with the Imperial Society of Teachers Of Dancing, they are enhanced CRB checked, hold chaperone licences and are first aid trained.

Elite Academy holds classes for students from 3 years to adults in Classical Ballet, New York style Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Street Jazz, Ballroom, Latin and Musical Theatre. We also offer private tuition, exam coaching and Wedding Dances.

The aim of the school is to train all students to a professional standard in a confidence building environment, whilst encouraging musical appreciation, improve posture and self discipline, allowing their individuality to shine through. We cater for students wishing to attend just once a week for fun and for the more serious student who wants to progress to a career in dance.

Maidenhead – classes are held in several venues throughout Maidenhead after school, evenings and weekends. All our venues offer on site parking making it easy for drop off and pick-ups.

Beaconsfield – we have recently opened our own studio in Beaconsfield. it is centrally located with parking and a waiting area.

 
Ballroom, Latin & Salsa
Our childrens classes are great fun and consists of 2 different styles. International and American Ballroom dances include the Waltz, Foxtrot, Quick Step, Tango and Viennese Waltz. Latin dances are Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, Paso Doble and Jive.


Modern
From 4 years upwards where all students follow the ISTD syllabus from
Primary – Advance 2. The syllabus that we study has the ability to adapt,
develop and evolve with the changing fashion in dance. It’s a syllabus that combines modern dance, jazz, contemporary and other dance styles allowing students to become disciplined and versatile dancers.

Jazz
From 9 years upwards where all students follow the ISTD syllabus taking medal exams in bronze, silver and gold. This syllabus is designed for those who would like to complement their existing classes or for those who come late to the world of dance.


Musical Theatre
Is a form of theatre combing music, song, spoken dialogue and dance which we generally call "Musicals". This is a fun class aimed at children and teenagers, building an all round and versatile performer. Musicals included are Fame, Chicago, Hair spray, Oliver and many more. We do strongly recommend that students take a dance class along side to make them technically better dancers, but this is not compulsory.
 
Adult Jazz
For beginners to advance standard our funky friendly jazz classes will help you look good on the dance floor. You will learn the latest moves to the latest sounds, plus its a great alternative to the gym!

 

Adult Ballroom, Latin & Salsa
This consists of 2 different styles, International and American. Ballroom dances include the Waltz, Foxtrot, Quick Step, Tango and Viennese Waltz. Latin dances are Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, Paso Doble and Jive. Traditionally you dance as a couple with one person leading the steps whilst the other follows. At our fun classes you don't need to bring a partner!
Wedding Dances
Getting Married? Do you fancy something different for your wedding dance? Then why not ‘Dazzle’ on the dance floor – we can choreograph a dance especially for you to the music of your choice. Please contact us for more information

To help maintain a professional image we require all pupils to wear
our uniform, full details will be given after enrolment and can be

Adult uniform is not compulsory except when entering examinations.

Term Dates
Elite Academy follow the local education authority term dates from
September to July each year. However, some of our adult classes run
throughout the year. We also hold summer classes and workshops.

Term 1 & 2 - 6 September -18 December 2010 -(closed half term 25-30
October 2010)

Term 3 & 4 - 4 January - 9 April 2011 - (closed half term 21-26
February 2011)

Term 5 & 6 - 26 April - 23 July 2011- (closed May Day 2 May & half
term 30 May - 4 June 2011)

Exams
Exams help to improve a child’s confidence and ability. After passing their ISTD examination they are awarded a certificate, which will enable them to move onto the next grade with a sense of achievement.

Show
We hold shows every three years. This is a very exciting part of the school calendar, as new choreography, exciting music and lovely costumes all help to produce a great show which is performed in a professional theatre.

Classical Ballet
From 3 years upwards when we start with a basic introduction to ballet in our junior classes moving at 5 years old to our ISTD exam classes where the aim of the syllabus is to increase the standard and appreciation of classical ballet. The syllabus is designed for beginners to professional standard, it encourages co-ordination and musical interpretation which are essential for classical ballet.


Tap
From 4 years of age with our Dinky tap class which gives children a basic introduction to tap before following the ISTD syllabus from the age of 5 years from Primary – Advance 2. Apart from being an essential skill for professionals, tap is one of the most enjoyable and rhythmic forms of dance there is.

 
Street Jazz
From 5 years upwards with our mini jazz class gives children an introduction to jazz that will eventually lead them onto our street classes, These are non syllabus classes ideal for those who do not wish to take exams. In this class you will learn the latest moves to up to date music.
 
Adult Ballet
If you've always wanted to learn ballet as a child but never had the opportunity or you did ballet as a child and want to come back to it, then our ballet classes are for you! We hold classes for complete beginners to those with more experience in a fun and relaxed environment. No special ballet uniform needed only ballet shoes. You will be taught the basics of ballet which will help co-ordination and musical interpretation which are essential for classical ballet. Plus it’s a great form of exercise and can even help with injuries – Doctor to be consulted first.

Adult Tap
Apart from being an essential skill for professionals, tap is one of the most enjoyable and rhythmic forms of dance there is. Whether its exams you want to work towards or free-work tap classes you want to attend, Elite Academy of Dance will find the right class for you. Our classes cater for complete beginners to advance standard.
